Greetings Conway Community and Families,

As we move through our first full weeks together, we have several key events and milestones coming up. Mark your calendars for our first PTSA meeting on Tuesday, August 25, where we'll discuss ways to support our school community this year. We also hope you'll join us to cheer on our athletes at our first soccer game of the season on Wednesday, August 26 at Lake Como School!
Looking ahead to academics, our students will take their first state progress monitoring assessments next week: FAST ELA testing on Thursday, August 27, followed by FAST Math testing on Tuesday, September 1. These baseline assessments help us tailor instruction to meet your child's specific needs, so having students well-rested and on time is essential.
Finally, a gentle reminder that consistent and daily attendance is one of the strongest predictors of middle school success. Being present every single day ensures students stay on track academically and socially. Attendance is especially critical on assessment days, so please make every effort to have your child in school, on time, and ready to do their best on August 27 and September 1. Thank you for your partnership!

📢 Conway Middle School Weather Delay Procedures

🌧️ Weather Delay Guidelines

1. Identification Required for Early Pick-Up
If you are picking up your student during a weather delay, please bring a valid photo ID and check in at the front office. This is for the safety and accountability of all students.

2. Communication via ParentSquare
Any delay in dismissal due to weather will be communicated promptly through ParentSquare. Please ensure your contact information is up to date and notifications are enabled.

3. Plan Ahead for Light Rain
While we will hold students indoors during severe weather (heavy rain, thunder, lightning, etc.), students may be dismissed during light rain.
👉 We strongly recommend that all walkers carry an umbrella to stay dry and safe during light rain conditions.

4. Patience is Key
Weather delays can be unpredictable. We ask for your patience and understanding as we prioritize student safety and follow district protocols.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday August 25th at 6:00 p.m. in the Conway Media Center. If you have any questions about getting involved please contact our PTSA at conwaymsptsa@gmail.com

Micromobility Policy

Transportation Update

Under the new district policy, middle school students may not bring or use motorized micromobility devices on school property, including e-bikes, e-scooters, and hoverboards.

Families have until September 8 to make alternative transportation arrangements.

Congratulations to all of the student-athletes who earned a spot on the Conway Middle Soccer Team! We are proud of the hard work, dedication, and perseverance each player demonstrated during tryouts. Making the team is a great accomplishment, and we look forward to an exciting season filled with teamwork and sportsmanship.
